Okay, you have to understand that I almost didn't even enter the picture because I don't think my photography is good enough yet. But because of all of you and my family telling me that I should, I entered a photo into the county fair and I won first place and best in category!! I'm a prize-winning photographer?????? No way!!! :D

Norm, that's great!!!! I'm so glad you entered! That is an awesome photo. I bet a lot of people looked at it and said,

"Wow! I wish I took that! And since I didn't, I wish it was for sale!"

My kids and I just took our '07 entries down to the county fair last weekend, so we'll find out how we did in the next couple weeks (my 4-year-old managed to get a pretty cool one of his sister playing piano. He was just pointing and shooting--as fast as his little fingers would go--better to be lucky than good, I guess!)

The image of the dock with the caption "Perspective" in my gallery is one of my entries this year.

Super job, neighbor! You set the bar pretty high for next year, though...;)

Thank you everyone. Today is me and my wife's 26th anniversary. Since I still haven't been able to get a job, and thus can't do anything special for our anniversary, this was quite the boost to the ego and low moral. I appreciate all of your kind words. I guess I will listen to you all more often. I'm just too critical of my own work. The job will come soon (I hope)... I'm in the middle of the process of interviewing with a couple of companies. In the meantime, it was good to feel like I'm still worth something. (The male ego is such a fragile thing... ugh!):o
