This is a hard post to make. You have all been so caring and supportive that I wanted to do this myself and not ask someone else here to tell you this. Dad passed away this morning. As I mentioned before I thought he was holding on for the anniversary of my Mom passing away, and that he did. I take great comfort in the fact that he is no longer suffering and he is reunited with her.
You have all been so supportive with you kindness and prayers and it has all been so helpful and appreciated. Thank you all so very much.

My sincerest sympaties are with you and your family. A death is never easy to deal with and especially hard when it is a parent but it has to offer some comfort knowing he was able to achieve his goal and is now a peace.

Dear Kim
I remember when I was a little boy and first understood what death was… I prayed to die before my mom and dad. I didn’t think I could live without them in my life. Now that I have children I pray I will die before them. I hope to do so with dignity and take some fear of death from them.
I’m sure your father thought the same and did his best…God Bless

My sincerest condolences, also. You are a brave and special woman, with a family full of love.
We had a similar experience when my Grandfather passed away. He wanted Grandma to move back to their home town to be with family, so they sold their house and she bought one practically next door to us. The night we finished packing up their house and drove back, they also transported him by ambulance from where they lived back to his home town. He lasted until they got him there. Once Grandma told him he was back home, he passed away within a few hours, knowing that she was back with all the family.

Oh Kim,
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your Dad. Losing a parent is so difficult, but the wonderful thing is you have been there throughout, helping, holding, listening and loving. No parent could ask for more from a daughter. You have been wonderful and loving, and I know both your Mom and Dad are looking on you with such appreciation, pride, and love for all you are and all you have been.
My prayers are with you.....and hugs.
If there is anything at all we can do, please........let us know. We are here.
Lovingly,
Mary Ann

Thank you all so much. This thread was hard to read. I am so touched by your kindness the tears just flowed again. Yesterday was a busy day trying to make arrangements and faxing this and that here and there since I am home right now. I don't know why the funeral home didn't have me sign everything when I premade the arrangements so this has delayed the death certificate. We will be going back to Ohio Thursday morning and hoepfully all the arrangements are finalized for a service on Saturday. Plus we have to hope that my Mom's urn makes it in time bacause we are burying them together. We may be doing a Memorial service for Dad with family and friends and then have to have a seperate burial at a later date with just my brothers and myself.
Thank you all for you condolense and support.

Thank you all again.
The Memorial Service Saturday was beautiful. There were many more people there than we had expected. Placing the obit in so many papers where Dad (and Mom) had lived was a good idea and so appreciated by family we had lost touch with and were unable to contact. It was nice catching up with family I hadn't seen in years. So sorry it was under the circumstances.
Mom's urn finally arrived Saturday morning just a few hours before the service. Everyone was so releived it made it. The cards and photo I did of Dad were loved by all. I have to make about 20 copies of the photo as well as numerous other photos from Dad and Mom's photo albums that I had put together for all to look through. We will have to go back to Ohio in a few weeks for a burial service to bury Mom and Dad's urns together.
My cousin gave me a wonderful surprise. She was cleaning out an old camper that they had stored some of her Grandmother's things in when she passed away a few years ago. She found a small baby size blanket that she (My Great Aunt Eva) had crocheted and cross stitched my Mom's name on it. I was so overwhelmed.

Kim, glad to hear that the Memorial went well...especially that your mom's urn arrived in time! It must have been nice to see old friends and relatives even though it was a sad time. It shows how much your Dad and Mom were loved! Must have made you feel good in spite of your sadness. How nice of your cousin to give find and give you that momento of your Mom!
