Hi I have a quick question that I need answered. I would like to know how you resize photo's small to larger without squishing or deforming the subject. I know there is likely an easy answer but I am having a memory block about how it is done sucessfully.
I have a family photo that I wish to make into a print but I keep screwing up the people in it.
Any advise is welcome. :)
Thanks
Mary

Hi and Welcome
When resizing a picture always use the corners never the middle and hold your Shift key down while you are pulling on the corner.
If you are in PSE you can use Ctrl T and then click on the Lock icon that appears on the tool bar.
Hope that helps - let us know :)

Since enlarging a photo impacts the resolution, I follow Scott Kelby's instructions in his book which I call MY BIBLE: PSE3 Bookfor Digital Photographers. I don't think he'll mind if I provide a summary because this should encourage you to buy his book --- worth every penny: In Image Menu/Resize: click on Resample; switch unit of measure in the dialog from inches to percent for both width and height; type in 110 in both which willl increase your image by 10%. Click OK. Repeat this process as many times as necessary to get in the range of the size photo you want. You check this by unchecking Resample, changing percent back to inches and type in your desired size. If the resolution is at least 150, you should be OK. I like a higher resolution (like 300) and have gorgeous enlargements of 16x20 and even 20 x30 from a 3.2 mp camera. (now I have a 7mg camera). The pictures are beautiful. Scott explains this all much better so go buy the book. It has many practical lessons and led to my love of digital imaging.
