Ok, kids...I'm at Beth Isreal Hospital in Boston yesterday waiting for my cousin to get through her minor (no worries) surgery so that I can take her home. The recovery room doors open and out comes a young woman in surgical scrubs, cap, mask around her neck and carrying a book. As she got closer, I saw the title of the book. It was called "Plastic Surgery Secrets" !!!
I am not kidding...my first thought was "I can't believe that I don't have my camera  !"

How about sharing your missed opportunities?

Actually it happened two days ago...was driving on a backroad behind walmart...the road the delivery trucks use but I use it too since it beats dealing with the regular flow of traffic in the 'main' entrance. Anyways, saw some road kill ahead of me and as I approached I realized it was some sort of hawk. Decided I'd do my shopping then check it out on the way back. So on the way back I stopped the car and got out. Boy it stunk really really bad as it had been 90 degrees most of the day and it had probably been struck very early. To make a long story short I really wish I had my camera so that I could take some macro shots of this magnificant creature for reference use...as far as painting goes. I debated putting it in the van but the smell would have killed me before I got home....I 'did' flip it over and look it over quite a bit tho...some nasty little spidery looking bugs were crawling in and out of his feathers. Anyways, got home and looked him up in the handy bird book to find he could have been the immature red tailed hawk. I was going by memory of his tail feathers ...the other birds that looked similar are not suppose to be in this area...but then again who knows what birds come and go.....just wish i had of brought my camera along that day. At least I 'do' carry a personal size bottle of Purell hand sanitizer in my purse...that came in very handy after handling that stinky beautiful creature.

Jodi,
What a nice story! I am trying to keep a camera in the car. However, right now I usually take it back out so it doesn't get fried. Then I forget to put it back in... Just one of those things.

Juergen my love ! So happy to see you here !! So glad you are safe and well ! Yes indeed it is too hot to keep the camera in the car...I have a difficult time remembering what I'm suppose to be doing when i'm headed out to the car in the first place. :D

Thank you Jodi, thank you Wendy. I'm just the quiet guy who usually just listens (reads)... It's good to see both of you here!

Jodi-the poor thing-Purell's great though, isn't it???

Gary    I think I would have made her wait there and run down to the gift shop and bought a throw away if she'd had a For Dummies book!
