Can someone point me in the direction of a tut for making gemstones? I can't find one any place. PSCS2 and Ele4.:)

Because each gemstone type has unique and very different characteristics, I doubt that you would find one. You might find something for an individual type and not others. I used to do them all the time by hand in watercolor on vellum when I was a jewelry designer. It is good if you have a visual reference in front of you at the time. I believe it would be much harder in PSE. If you want to do transparent, cabachon-type, stones (flat bottom--rounded hump on top), you might try a colored shape and then apply one of the 'plastic' effects in the artwork or effects palette. Opaque or faceted stones would be another thing altogether.

which tutorial did you find? I had a great one, but don't recall if it was for PSP, PS, or PSE, and can't find it again.
Here's a free premade graphic birthstone set I made with a style I created in Photoshop, so not exactly faceted:
http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=52557 but you have to be a member of the site to see that page
my faceted jewels are "hand made" with a new layer for each facet, and a gradient fill for each layer. Or I'll just use the style to make several polygons stacked up (24 sides, 8 sides, 6 sides) and adjust opacity or blend mode.

Atomic Cupcake has a couple of great actions to make gemstones. Also, on the Adobe Exchange-FREE!!!-there are actions and styles for gemstones. :D

I think got my styles/effects birthstones from here: http:/www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?event=extensionDetail&extid=1044879
I used them on this layout.

Thanks, Wendy. Yes -- she's really growing! Actually that picture was taken in May, and she's already changing and growing more! Of course, you know how that goes . . . with Ruby! :)
