Hi Everyone,

I want to take one my pictures and super impose someone into another pictuere. Can this be done with Elements and what are the steps?

Thank you for your help :)

You could always clone them in. I'm sure some one will come along soon to give you a better idea and how to do it.

It certainly can be done and isn't that hard to do but does take some understanding of selecting and layers and ideally layer masks. I have some where I've added three extra people from three other photos (they'd left before the group photo :D). I usually select, copy and paste and then blend in. First few times are tricky but once you get the hang of it it's really pretty simple to do.

Here's a variation to illustrate what Tony's talking about (I see that he types faster than I can). I have left an extra step in here to illustrate

Look in the photo bin (bottom of screen): the image on the left is the one I want to add to, the one on the right is what I want to add part of.

Make a rough selection of what you want from the right image - I used magic wand and quickly caught head & shoulders. Drag that into (onto) your target image. It will be on a new layer.

Use the move tool to put it where you want and use the erase tool to get rid of what doesn't "fit".

Voila - there I am, Just like Lance :)

As Tony says, you need to understand how to select (how to chose which of several methods to use) and how to use layers. When you get that down you can learn masks and avoid erasing. What i just illustrated is not that difficult, give it a try and have fun.

Hi Rusty,

"Voila - there I am, Just like Lance." Impressive work with cut 'n paste. The "Tour" next year eh?

Cheers,
