When I print out a DVD jacket, the colored background is about 1/2 inch too small horizontally and I can't seem to be able to increase the amount. I've tried to both resize the image and the canvas and neither seems to do the trick. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to make the horizontal image about .4 inch wider? Thank you. -clp

Hi

I guess you are using the "create" feature. I wonder if it has something to do with your printers border or some sort of auto resizing in your print driver.
Last time I did some inserts I just made a new document the same size as the insert and worked on that. It still took some tweaking, but once the size is set, just save the file as a PSD and load it back in whenever you want.:)

I'm sure Gary's got it right. It's a printer border problem as the template is 11" wide and if your printer can't be set to print borderless you're going to get a margin on letter sized paper. Unless you can change your printer settings to borderless a work-around is to print it on legal sized paper unless you can get your hands on some A4 sized paper which would also work I would think.

Hi clpvt,

I am sure Gary is right about the dimensions. Here is a small trick that I use with CD labels and jewel cases. I do not use Creations. I tried that a few months ago with less than perfect results. Here is what I do:

I have a .psd file for CD labels. It has on it two concentric circles. One is the outside of the CD and the other is the hole. I compose my images as layers below these circles. The circles act like guides to show what is visible on the finished label. Just before I print on Avery stock, I delete the circles. Sometimes I need the labels again, so I will save the finished labels in a file with a different name.

The jewelbox works the same way, but I do not have recent (PSE 5.0) experience with them, as I have stopped using jewelboxes. They take up too much room and often break. The procedure is the same, only with rectangles in place of circles. Note the direction of the type on the edge. Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Bob

Thank you, gents! Will try the tweaking and making my own template and see what happens. Thanks for taking the time! - Carolyn
