Greetings all,
First....I'm new to digital photography and Photoshop Elements. An avid 35mm user, I got hooked on "digital" while in the military...stationed in the Middle East.
I'm looking for a good program to migrate my stills into DVD format. I have a SOny computer and it has a "clik to DvD," but I'm not that much impressed. I like the Macintosh I-mac and it;s DVD template software (iDVD), but would need to spend $1500 to get a worthwhile system.
Any suggestions. I'm looking to apply techniques for still wedding images., with transitions, music, etc.
This sure beats playing in a darkroom.
THANKS!

Hi
Welcome to the forums.
Adobe has a product called Premier Elements and there is a forum on this site for it. Tami is the Video Diva in that section. She has posted a couple of samples and tutorials in that forum as well. She could probably give you a run down of the features.
I think some others here are using Pro Show Gold, but this site doesn't really support it. Tami tries to help out when she can but I don't think she uses it.
Pop on over to that forum and see if one of the threads there helps out :)
Hope this helps a bit,
Gary.

Hi,
I don't know about Premire Elements--Hope you can find out more about the program.
You might look at Roxio Easy Media Creator 7.

Gary,
I sort of use it :)
But for my work, you are correct, I use a highend editing program.
It is a very nice consumer application that does alot of cool stuff, just not enough for what I do.
I would be happy to answer questions about the application for anyone, just post them in Premiere Elements thread :)

I have used Proshow Gold along with others on this forum and I highly recommend it. It is not meant for video editing so the features are intended for slide shows. They also supply their buyers with free web space so you can share your slide shows. You send an email invitation with a web link to your show. The DVD burning feature takes very little time compared to others I tried. It will burn CD's also but I have found the play back capabilites of different players to be a hang up so I don't do those too often. (It is a PC only program).
There is a free trial if you would like to try it.

I really like Premiere Elements -- we've been using it since June and found it to be pretty flexible with one notable exception -- the menu templates are a bit kludgy and could do with some built-in flexibility.
Since Premiere Elements is at version 1.0, I do think it will improve with age, but for now, it's performed very nicely for us -- stable with very nice output and the flexibility to integrate photo slideshows with digital video.

I have to agree with Mary - Proshow gold is great and so quick and easy to use. Highly recommended A1.

Tami
Sorry for speaking for you. I did have a definate impression you only used it if someone had a question and you were trying to help them out.
Not sure why I had that impression though

Thanks for all of the recommendations. I'll look at the suggested products. I've seen ProShow Gold, but was advised it had some "problems."
Tfry...great work that you have posted. Are you are professional or just serious hobbyist?

Gary...
NP :) You were right, I use it to help people out and do tutorials for here,
so I can show off my dog.. I don't think Scott or Dave would let me put my dog in their DVD's
Laffawot,
I'm the DVD Production Editor for KW Media Group, we produce all those Scott Kelby, Dave Cross training DVD's :)
So to answer your question, I think that makes me a professional :D
But the cool thing about PRE is that even if you aren't a professional you can still get professional looking results with alot less effort.
I'm glad you like the tutorials, and I will have another one next week, also if you have any questions feel free to post them in the PRE Thread.
