Enjoyed this picture so much. It made me laugh and wonder what happened to the door? Or was it removed because of the views.

Great picture. Not many of those left, thank goodness. I remember when I was a little girl my aunt had an outhouse that we had to use and I hated it. Especially at night, very scary place.

Very nice image. Gallery is very wonderful.

Your right Charlotte. Reminds of days on the ranch as a teenager. Our out house had a door.:D

Thank you all for your wonderful remarks. Dane the door is laying off to the side in the grass but it does improve the view without it. Image is from an old ranch in SD. Have a lot more of barns and old house but have not worked on them yet.

Suzi, thanks for posting your photo of the outhouse, brought back some old memories. Can't wait to see the rest of your photos once you post them.

John, our outhouse had a door too:D Suzi's picture is very good but I'm sure glad we moved up to inside plumbing:p

The picture reminds me of one time when my husband and I were out camping and we took a walk to the group site areas. We came upon an out house that had a sign on it saying "Out of Order". We were wondering how can a out house be out of order. We found a hole that we could look thru and we found out that the floor in front of the seat was gone. So I guess that it was Big Time Out of Order.

Nice picture and boy did this ever bring back memories for me. I grew up using one of these until I was a teenager. We had no sewer or septic system for a long time. There was many times I wish we didn't have a door on ours as my brother use to lock my sister and I in it  (more than one seat :D ). We started taking something with us to unlatch it and he soon quite as we spoiled his fun.
