Actions

I want to download some free actions. After i DL them where do i look for them in photoshop. Im thinking i might have a separate folder for them but i dont know how to or where to retrieve them once i get them into PSE. I have PSE 4. Where do actions go? In the filter menu?

This is where actions go for Elements 4.0

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 4.0\Previews\Effects

You should create a new folder under effects for the new action to go into.

Do make sure that the Actions are specifically written for Elements ... :)

...and make sure they have a thumbnail - they won't work in PSE4 without one.

WOW thank you all for your help & being so quick to answer. I cant use anything from graf's it wont let me sign in, ive done everthing to change it but it wont budge including changing my SN. Does anyone know if i can use xero or atncentral.com I love the ones in there but i dont know if it will accept my elements 4 and im not daring enough to try without knowing for sure.

Are you referring to www.graficalicus.com (Graffi?) If so, I would send Graffi a PM and ask him for advice.

Graffi made it easy by posting a message in this thread! All you need to do is find the message he posted, right click on his name, a drop nown menu will appear, then hightlight send Graffi a private message. When he sends you a return Private Message you will need to watch your log-in at the top right corner under your name, you will see a number 1 appear when you have a message (or 2 if you have 2 messages)

After you installing the actions into the effects folder you probably will have to dump the cache folder each time.

I clicked on this website for Richard's Whitepaper. My question is this: Will it work in Elements 4 and 5? The website only mentions Elements 1, 2, and 3
