It seems like I've been posting a lot of photos lately. This turkey came courting in my front yard. There were 3 toms and a bunch of hens. Just now a mother deer and a brand new fawn are in my neighbors yard bedding down for the night. I did get a few photos. I should add that this was in California not Alaska. The only turkeys we have there are human ones.

Very nice tom strutting his stuff, Bill,

I was about to say, "Wow, didn't know turkeys were in Alaska", then I read further in your post :)

We are fortunate to have many in Wisconsin -- one of the great success stories of our DNR. They were completely gone at the turn of the century. Then, about 20 years ago the DNR got some from Missouri; they were "planted" regularly for only a few years and really thrived.

Nice job, those are curious feathered ones. Usually hard to get a good shot at one!

Rusty, no we do not have turkeys in Alaska. Here in California (my winter home) we have a bunch. I live on a golf course and several years ago they removed 200 and transplanted them elsewhere. Now the deer are over running the place and unfortunately, have become a problem. They eat any plants, flowers etc. Glad you liked the photo.

Smiles, If I followed the turkeys around I could get some good photos but they aren't always in full bloom like that tom. Especially in my front yard.
