Shari (I think your name is the same as mine - I pronounce mine Shar(eee) as in Sharlene. I went to comment on this yesterday and I think my phone rang. Just precious. One that is crying out for framing I think. I think we all have to have a picture wall in our homes to show off the wonderful work we do. I do include myself because you have all taught me so much and I do have some hanging in my home. I even change winter and summer photos because the artist lives right here!!! Now Shari you get that sweet little girl framed.

Now that is just beautiful! If this doesn't get IOW, something's wrong. Everything about it just shouts "Professional." It reminds me of some of the top photographers' displays at big malls. I always stop and look at their images to get ideas. The little girl is a doll.

Shari, what an adorable image. Great job. I agree with Shar"eee";) It should be framed and on a wall. Or better yet, a gallery mount.

Oh my, I am overwhelmed. Thank you all for the great compliments! This is my step granddaughter. When I finished it I immediately called my daughter, I asked her to get online as soon as possible so she could see it. I was so proud of the final results. Now that you'll have complimented on it so well, I am even more proud! Thanks for the inspiration!
Oh, I am about to call my daughter! Yes I know it's late, but I Just have to tell her what you'll have said. Thanks again!

How about that same spelling & pronounciation! Now that's is unusual. Thanks for the compliment! I hope to get this framed soon, I will probably hae one done for my daughter for her birthday in September! She is so crazy about the girls, you would never know they were not hers.
Oh Shari, how are you doing?

Hi Bill,
First of all let me say thank you for the compliment!
I first tweeked my image as if I was going to print it just as is was. I then decided that I didn't like the hand rail showing so I used several selections to cover that up. I then went through the selective coloring technique, merge down> next I add sepia tone> sharpen tool (heavier on the roses). Experiment with the opacity.I filled in the empty areas with a couple of different brushes (Will look them up If any needs them). I selected the color of my brushes from the background. Used some grunge brushes (erase) around the edge. I selected where I had erased (should be transparent)>stroke outline> 2 pixels!
I know this is not the best directions, but I tried to make it simple. Just let me know if someone need my help!
Thanks again!
Oops I wanted to include the original photo!

Thank you Wendy for the compliment. She and the little redhead in my gallery are sisters, they have been through alot at such a young age. Their biological mother opted for drugs instead of them. So when I try to work on their photos, my emotions tend to overwhelm me. Oh let me get off that subject didn't mean to get carried away.
Thanks to all for the compliments.

WOW, the picture of your grand daughter in the red and white checkered outfit is fantastic. What a great job you did on that. If there would be any way possible could you give the technic or effect you did to get the great results. Really great stuff.
