View Full Version : Can't install PSE5 on my new hard drive

My hard drive fried on my computer; so I had another hard drive installed that was supposed to be the same as my old one. But when I try to install the PSE 5 program, this message pops up: "This program required VGA resolution or higher." What is this all about? "Resolution" sounds monitor-related, and I've not changed anything else--except the hard drive. Is there something I'm supposed to change on the computer; or do I send the hard drive back?

You would have had to reinstall the OS, I suppose. Maybe the monitor settings defaulted to a lower resolution. Take a look here:

Hi ...
... and welcome to the forum :)
It sounds like the resolution of your monitor is set below the 1024 x 768 pixels that Elements needs.
Just check your settings in the Control Panel and see if that is the case .. if it is the just increase the setting and it should then install OK :)
