I have re-labeled the psd files and still nothing.. what could I possibly be doing wrong. Thank you so much for the help

Hi Kelly and welcome. Which version are you using? By not showing do you mean the thumbnails? or the action all together?

Hi Kelly ..
... and welcome to the forum :)
Are the actions made specifically for Elements ??

Hi, Kelly -
put them in a directory (their own directory) within the Photo Effects folder within special effects (so it'll be special effects\photo effects\my new actions, for example)
and \ or
hold Shift when you see the white splash screen when you restart elements - keep holding it until you see the Building Artwork and Effects progress bar.

Thank you so much for your replies and your welcome everybody :)
Graficalicus.. holding the shift key down helped.. however now, it's not the actions that are showing... should the actions be out of their perspective folders and in one main designer folder? It was showing TOU's and the tutorial that came with one. I've since deleted them. Any advice on how to fix this problem.

I am using PSE5 and by not showing I mean both the thumbs and action aren't showing.

Kelly,
Welcome to the forum.
Can you post a screen shot of what you are seeing.
Also one of the pathway where you placed them in the program.
This could help solve your dilema. Been there before.

Hi Kelly
Welcome.
If you could do as Michelle suggests, especially showing the files that you have extracted/unziped and where you have put them.
You mentioned that you have relabled the PSD files, I'm not sure what they are for, as actions are .atn files. Also, as Wendy has suggested not all actions for Photoshop work in elements. Mind you, you should at least be able to pick them even if they don't work.:)

Correct - put just the actions - the .atn files, and none of the others (possibly a .htm, a .pdf, a .txt, a .jpg, etc.) into a subdirectory in the special effects folder.
Restart, hold Shift if necessary, and you should be ready to roll.

I didn't see this post the other day and since Grafi is too shy ;) to mention it...
If you want to add actions the easy(in my case, read lazy) way, spring for his Add-O-Matic. IMO its a must have and at the price a bargain! If you don't want to double up for the 30% discount, if you read his blog you just may find a 20% discount somewhere. :)

I have PSE 4. Will the add o matic work in that? And will it work on any action purchased from anywhere? I don't know very much about actions yet. Brenda
