I was wondering if someone can help me. I have a sony 19 inch monitor (not widescreen) but most of my photos cannot fit on my screen set as a desktop photo. I was thinking that maybe its because the resolution was set very high when taking my pictures. Is that the problem? Exactly how do i change it temporarily for the desktop but not permanantly. What numbers would I use if I can change it for both landscape & portrait? My actual screen size is 12" high X 15" wide. Does anyone know the answer to this? Thank you in advance if you do :D

Try the fit on screen under View setting in PSE.

Linda, there is an option when you choose the photo for your desktop wallpaper under the browse to stretch the image to the screen. There are three option in the drop menu, Center, Tile and Stretch. Try that.

The problem stems from the fact that most images from digital cameras have an apect ratio - the ratio of width to height - of 3:2. Your screen has an aspect ratio of 5:4 in which case these images will never fit exactly.
What ever the source of your image you will need make sure it's in the same aspect ratio as your screen. This often means that you need to crop it in the same ratio.
