i've read a few tutorials for photoshop cs on how to place an image on a background that has wrinkles on it. its done in photoshop with channels and quick mask but those options aren't included in PE3. Does anyone know of a method or a point in the right direction?

I am working on a pic for our dance school. They performed to music from the matrix and i was trying to merge the a picture onto the backdrop but the backdrop has wrinkles in it. i tried using smudge but it didn't look that great.

As always any help is GREATLY appreciated.

Hi there ....

Well you could try changing the blending mode of the top image and see how that looks (which blend mode you use really depends on the image but try overlay, screen, softlight)

However the best way really is to use a displacement mask ... I think that may be the method you have seen for CS.

Try this tutorial but ... duplicate the image you want to overlay then when it gets to the part where is says use Channels ... just convert your image to B&W then bump up the contrast ... that will work just fine.

Do ket us know how you go on :)
