Hello, I'm hoping someone can answer my question. I have photoshop elements 4.0 and have a problem with some lienart I scanned in. Whenever I tried to fill in color in white areas, some semi-transparent pixels remained, causing color distortion along the lines. Here's what it looks like:

The first picture is zoomed out at 100%, then an area zoomed in further with the lineart layer visible, then the area with the layer turned invisible.

I scanned in the lineart using an HP scanner and saved the image as a JPG. I then opened the jpg in photoshop, converted to a psd and worked off of it from there. The lineart is on a seperate layer form the other areas of color. Is there any way to make these pixels dissapear or fill in completely? I'd rather not have to start all over again because I already finished the skin.

I would try doing a levels adjustment on the scan layer to darken up the black areas. I'm not sure if this would work or not, but you could try using the magic wand selection tool and select all of the white areas, and then invert the selection and color over it with a large hard edged brush so that you don't get any gray tones at the edges. It will only fill in the selected areas, so it won't go into the white areas.

Hi

Welcome to the forums:)

I'm not sure if this will help with your existing project, but a "threshold" adjustment layer will turn pixels either white or black. You can use the slider to fine tune it.

Hope this helps.
