2 issues related to creating a flyer for a concert at our church.

The main picture for the flyer is supplied by the artist. I have the church's logo (tif and gif formats) that I want to place in the upper left hand corner. The issue is that the logo was created on a white background and I need it to be transparrent.

Issue 2: I have picture of our church (jpg) that I want to blend into the lower left hand corner. What would be the best way to do this?

Peace,

Without seeing the logo, the way I would go about it would be to select the white background using the magic wand, then invert the selection so only the logo is selected, then copy the selection to a new layer, turn off the original & save your logo as a .png or something that supports transparency.

As far as the second issue is concerned, have you seen Corey's podcast on clipping masks? I find that the best way to go for blending images.
