I'm still trying to get used to the changes in 5.0. Some of you may be glad to know that I haven't had any problem switching to the keyboard shortcuts for undo/redo that I was complaining about last week ;)
My next question is about resizing an image. Can you no longer specify the pixels you want? I see that as an option for a new document, but not for resizing an open document. Am I missing something?

Jenn, not sure exactly what you're trying to do, but have you looked at Image>Resize>Image Size? That's unchanged from earlier versions, all the way back to PSE 1.0.

Yeah, that's where I'm at. The "pixel dimensions" shows the original pixels with no option to adjust. The "document size" gives the option to adjust, but the only options I have are percent, inches, cm, mm, points, picas columns.

Jenn,
You have to check Resample in order to change the pixel dimensions.

Hi Jenn,
This is what I get:
1229
Note that you can make pixel adjustments in the upper text boxes. What do you see?
Cheers,
Bob

Hi Jenn,
Here it is in brief. If you need more detail, just ask.
1/ Get to where the Resize Image window is sitting on your Workspace.
2/ Hit Print Screen key on the keyboard to place the whole screen on the Clipboard.
3/ File > New > Image from Clipboard
4/ Use the Rectangular Marquee tool to Cut out the Resize Image window and place it on the Clipboard: Edit > Cut.
5/ File > New > Image from Clipboard
6/ File > Save As and save this as a .gif file. Note the folder path to get to this image.
7/ Go back to the Forum and start your post. When you get to the point where you want to insert the picture push the paperclip icon.
8/ In the window that comes up navigate to the image file and push the upload button.
9/ After the file uploads, close that window down.
10/ Hit the downward facing triangle to the right of the paperclip. Click on the file that you just uploaded. At this point you will not see the image, but it will appear when you submit your post.
Cheers,
Bob

Sorry about that Bob! I hadn't read Juergan's reply before I asked for the instructions, so I hurried and edited my post, but you're very quick on the draw and saw it before it was fixed! Thanks so much for your quick reply--don't think it went to waste because I'm sure I'll be able to use those instructions again another time!

It was good practice for me:). I did not notice the solution either before I posted.
