My granddaughter does pole vauling and I would love to make a poster for her. I have several good shots. Now, the problems starts because I do not know where to begin. I see so many WONDERFUL ones done by others of where there is a faded background and different photos added, etc. I cannot seem to be creative on my own. Are there sites for sports posters or scrap booking where I can get a jump start for ideas about sports ?
Thanks!

Mari: That is a terrific picture and would make a fine poster on it's own. Can't wait to see your final product...

Mari - I love that photo as is

But it would also look great as the background for your poster.

Thanks so much for the input. I think you have talked me into using this photo just as a poster...after I do some straightening on it! I still want to practice doing one with several pictures.

Where do I find the extra things such as a film strip design where I could put pictures in. I have seen these and other neat 'props' in several pictures, but
don't know where to find them.

I LOVE this forum!!!!!!

The filmstrip is available to subscribers as a download as part of a tutorial. Panos has also created one that is free to download- available here:

Good luck with your project!

That's pretty much it, isn't it.

And usually, you get multiple sources. LOL

I have learned so much since I "fell into" this site.

Mari,
Here are a few sports posters I created during this year from my sons team:

[URL=http://www.pixentral.com/show.php?picture=17wp1ZbgZEzzg0OtruCG3BbTrCM5QZ0]http://www.pixentral.com/hosted/17wp1ZbgZEzzg0OtruCG3BbTrCM5QZ0_thumb.jpg (http://www.pixentral.com/show.php?picture=1QfxjB4FEuXdw6d9loCNIQsI9P3)

I hope you like them. If you go on poster sites it will give you plenty of ideas to come up with. The black & white one I did I enlarged to 11X14 put in poster size frame with mat & let all the team members sign the mat & we gave each coach one for our Athletic banquet. It was really nice . Good luck!

What super posters! I bet the coaches were thrilled ....as well as your son.
You did a great job.
I did go on a few poster sites, but where I was at mostly were just photos enlarged. You have encouraged me to look some more.

The idea I have in my head is to have something faded in the back ground and a few small pictures somewhere....but the main focus I wanted to have in the center are several approach and finishing photos of my granddaughter making a pole vaulting jump. The last image I would like to be a 'break-out'.

That is the 'rough draft' I have in my head....but I realize that this probably is too ambitious for someone who is not sure of even how to start this!!!!
It will definately be a learning experience. I just hope I get this finished before she graduated in 3 years.!!!!!!!

Thank you so much for sharing and being helpful.
