Hi I have elements 5. When I do a slideshow...click on Add Media ..then Audio from organizer...then I click on a tune I get a box your system does not have the required compresser/ decompresser /(codec ) installed.
but I am able to play any of my music from ...Audio folder.
So why am I unable to play the music which came with elements 5.
I had a trial run with elements 3 and I was able to play the music from Audio organizer......Thanks.....

Ann

This is a trial run with Photoshop Elements 5.0 or a purchased version?

I have seen this same problem described at least twice (4/23/07 and 6/24/07) over at the Photoshop Elements User to User Forum at Adobe (http://www.adobe.com). In each case, there were no responses, and the person who presented the question did not post back saying that he/she had found his/her own solution.

You already have done what would have been my first suggestion...try playing the audio from its saved location. You say that works. Does the property for each audio say that it is a wma file?

Have you tried converting the wma to mp3 in iTunes before trying to import it into the Photoshop Elements 5.0 slideshow?

I will continue to look for an explanation.

Hi ATR.... thanks for your reply.... It is a purchased version....
and it has 13 mp3 tunes already in the organizer which I am unable to play...
I am computer illiterate.....so don,t always understand the terminology and how to do things....but if I downloaded elements 5 with 13 tunes should'nt I be able to play them.....

To ATR......Here I am once again.......but this time I have the answer.....
Audio from organizer....then I right double clicked on a tune...a box came up
Searching for missing file....I then clicked on browse.....which bought up another box with option... I clicked on reconnect......then I went back to the Audio organizer ....clicked on the tune again .....and it played:p
I did this with each tune so now they play.....
I hope this may help other people.......
but do you know why this happened ?????

Ann,

That was great news and a significant contribution. Thanks for reporting back.

What you see in the Organizer is just a thumbnail of the file that is on the hard drive. Because of the Reconnect message that you received, I would guess that the connection between the Organizer thumbnail and the file location on the hard drive was unconnected. Reason(s): the files on the hard drive got moved from their original location OR the Organizer ran into a connection problem glitch??? I suspect the "glitch" aspects of this situation.

Keep up the good work.
