Default brushes aren't working....

I've been looking around the forum for help, but can't seem to find anyone with the same issue I seem to be having:

In the 'default brushes' list, several group of brushes just aren't working (specifically the hard round, soft round, and airbrush brushes). The other brushes in that group seem to work fine. I have PSE5 on WindowsXP and have already tried the CTL-ALT-SHFT at startup and reset the preferences. I have the same software running on my work laptop with no issues (IBM Thinkpad running Windows XP Pro).

This is really driving me nuts :( and I would appreciate any and all help! :D

Have you tried resetting the brush tool? It's the icon at the top left when you have the brush tool active. I'm not sure that resetting preferences does the same thing as resetting the tool so it's worth a try.

Thanks....I've been wondering why my brushes weren't there any longer, too.

I tried the 'reset brushes' while the list of default brushes was up....it seemed like it was doing something for a few seconds, but then when I went back to try them again...no luck. It just seems so strange that only the hard round, soft round, and airbrush ones won't work. I can stamp grass and stars all over the place!

Any other ideas for me to try Tony?
