NEF raw

Im using a Nikon D40, and saving in NEF raw. But when going to open the files on photoshop elements 5.0, in is saying it is the wrong file type. I have tried open as, using all the different formats, to no end.

Any help/advice much appreciated.

Welcome to the forums.:)

You may need to go the Adobe sitte and get the latest camera Adobe Camera Raw from there. I think 4.1 is the most current version for PE5.

I am pretty sure that the D40 is not supported in the version of ACR that came out of the box with 5.
