Hi, I just got Photoshop Elements 3 only yesterday, and MAN do I like it. I was using a program called Paint.net before this, and I liked how there was a cool forum that showed how to do different effects and things using P.n. As far as I can tell, there isn't a forum like that for PSE3, so I'm stuck in a rut trying to just learn everything about the program on my own :(. Does anyone know of a site with lots of tutorials showing what things are possible when starting from scratch?

Hello and welcome. You have come to the right place with friendly help for Elements. You can search around the forum for posted tuts on many things. You could also subscribe to the site and there are over 200 tutorials and vidoes available to you plus a newsletter with more tuts and info 8 times a year. It is well worth the price. The forum itself is free and many have posted tuts in them as well. There are also courses on Elements available even if you don't subscribe.

If you have questions or need help with something just ask. You won't find a more friendly, helpful group anywhere on the web.

stoker121,

This site is split between the free forums, and the subscription-required tutorials.

If you're looking for free tutorials, Google is your friend. One place to get you started is the tutorials on About.com (http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/pselements/Photoshop_Elements_Tutorials_and_User_Resources.ht m).

Welcome to the Forum, stoker,

Don't worry about which version of PSE you are using. Most of what is discussed here works equally well in 3, 4 or 5 and a lot of it even in PSE 2.

There are slight wrinkles between the different versions; very little that's earthshaking.

If you become a subscriber, strongly recommended, and start looking at the video tutorials it will become obvious that the old ones were prepared in 3, a whole bunch in the middle in 4 and those from about last October on in 5. The nice thing is, all the concepts and many of the exact procedures work in any of the versions.

Thanks a lot everyone, I'm glad to be here :).

Money is hard to come by for me (I am 16, and I don't have a job), so subscribing is kind of out-of-question at the moment.

AngelicKim, you said there were Elements courses available even to non-subscribers. Where can I find these?

...there were Elements courses available even to non-subscribers....This does not mean they are free... simply that you do not have to pay $49/year for a subscription in order to have the opportunity to pay $20 for a course. ANYONE can pay $20 for a course, without being a subscriber.

To see the courses in question, click the "ONLINE TRAINING" link near the top of this page, just below the main banner.
