Hi,
have downloaded these and they look very interesting. Could someone explain how I use them.
Kev.

Kevin: I think they're much the same as the text in circles and spirals I've posted here. They're psd files so you would open it and then drag the text layer into your image. It should be editable and resizable and you could distort apply layer styles and that sort of thing without losing the basic text in a shape. I'll have to give them a try.

Kev, I just loaded the image (circle or square or ....) and then double clicked the text layer in the layer's palette and started typing, which replaced the text that was there. You probably would have to adjust the text size depending on what you wanted to go around the circle, etc.

Tony, you type faster than me. :D:D

Dorrie: I was typing fast because there was a big storm coming :D. But it missed us - pity - we could use some rain. I do find it amazing that Elements understands most of the text formatting you can do in Photoshop even though you can't get at it in Elements to do it. It's got a powerful engine hidden inside just waiting to be let out :)

I downloaded the free text path and saved it in a folder. I opend a new document and put one of the paths on that document . Here is the question: can you just start to type any where on the path or is there a begining and an end? I could do part of the path but then it would just quit. Just how does this work?

Tina, if you will click on the spot where it quit, begin typing again and it will complete the shape. If you want to avoid this happening, just use your backspace key and erase the words already there, then start typing.

Sarah's right you need to get rid of letters before adding more. Another way is just to double click the text layer to highlight all the text and then press delete. All the existing text will disappear and you can just type your own. Adjusting the font size will let you complete the circle. Using free transform (Ctrl T) will let you change the size of the circle. In fact a combination of the two you can have any sized text on any size circle so you really don't need all the different sizes that were included in the download. One size should fit all :)

I get a message saying the text paragraph must be converted to point text to be edited and if I click OK the text moves away from the circle?

Am I doing something wrong or is it because I am using an old version of PSE (2.0)?

I'm afraid you need PSE4 or higher for it to work. PSE3 and earlier don't support paragraph text which is needed to be able to use those psd files properly.

DUH-- Am I right- when I want text to follow a pattern on a document, I click on the shape I down loaded, drag it into the doc. and then type. What I type will go on the pic in that shape? Thanks in advance--BillandCat
