Hi

I created these tutorials more as an aide memoire - it's easy to forget certain techniques if you don't use the program everyday. But thought they may useful to someone. They are all done in Elements 5.

Layer groups or the "group with previous command" (using them as a version of a layer mask):

Adjustment layers and their layer masks (and using them as a layer mask):

Adding and using layer masks (using the action here (http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/pselements/p/layermasks.htm)):

Sorry about the heavy breathing - combination of having the mic too close to my mouth and a cold coming on honest!

I hope they may be of use to someone.

Cheers

Hi Gidon,

thanks very much for sharing these links, I just watched the first video and will definitely watch the others later. I'm new to PSE5 and the forum, so they are very useful indeed, thanks again. :)
I'd also been trying to follow instructions (elsewhere on the web) which referred to a layer mask and couldn't find how to get there in PSE5 so this is really helpful.

Having the history of what you did showing up above the layers palette, looks really good too, I haven't found how to display that so I will check that out too,

cheers and welcome,
Lisa

Gidon: I watched the second of the tutorials and thought it was top-notch. Your explanation is really easy to understand. I'll check the others out later but just wanted to say thanks for sharing. Hope to see more in the future...

Lisa - just look under the Window menu for the Layers palette.
