Hi!
I recently bought a new machine with Vista Professional and applied the patch (I am running at 64 bits).

I tried to email through Elements 5 (using outlook 2007) and I cannot get any of the frames or stationery.

Also, my Organizer gives me a "The Organizer has stopped working" prompt when I try to send any email. Help!

Hi Jeanne,

For now, forget Organizer. Save your finished picture to a folder in Vista. Use Windows Explorer and copy the file to the clipboard. Start Outlook and create a new e.mail message. Paste (<ctrl>V) the image into the message and send it out. That works for me every time.

Cheers,

Bob

Thanks Bob,

The problem is that I am teaching a class for PSE5 and I like to work on my machine the way it would perform at work....I need to teach the Organizer as well as the email feature.

I was just at the Adobe forum and they seem to think there will not be a 64 bit version of PSE5.
Sigh!

Hi Jeanne,

Like the migration some years back from 16 bit machines to 32 bit machines, the pioneers get all of the grief. I too am going to teach a course in PSE this fall. However, I am not going to teach Organizer :). If you must teach this capability, I would get a machine that runs the standard 32 bit system. It is pure "heck" for the instructor to have one kind of system and the students to be using another. You are setting yourself up for all kinds of "issues" down the road.

Can you send an attached image using Outlook as I was suggesting yesterday?

I would love for you to look at my course and give me suggestions on how I could make it better. It can be downloaded from my website:

www.s-i-inc.com (http://www.s-i-inc.com)

I am having some grief with downloading .pdf files, so if the process stops downloading just hit the retry button. Some files take two or three attempts to get it. They do, however, get further with each attempt. If someone knows what is happening here I would surely like to know.

Cheers,

Bob

Hi Bob,

Sorry I didn't answer before. My computer was down, because I chose to completely reformat and load as a 32 bit Vista instead of the 64 bit.

You are right--it is easier to have your (my) computer look like my student's computers.

I have been teaching Adult School for 22 years, and have, in addition to other classes, a daily Elements5 class and a Digital Camera class.

Lots of fun. My best advise is to keep it simple and not give too much information at each class. Also lots of handouts help.

I use Scott Kelby's Elements 5 Book. My students love it (lots of pictures), and step by step instructions.

Let me know if you need anything.

Jeanne

Hi Jeanne,

Do you have a website with class material about PSE on it? As you suggested, I am in the process of reducing material from my lesson plan and PowerPoint slides. My good wife Pat has agreed to "take" my course for practice. We ran through lesson 1 Thursday night. I am making some changes as a result of this session. You can download any of my 6 lessons slides from my website. They are numbered 1 through 6. Here is the link to number 1:

www.s-i-inc.com/lesson1.zip (http://www.s-i-inc.com/lesson1.zip)

Please feel free to make suggestions, either in this forum or offline via a personal e.mail message. I need all the help I can get:).

Thanks,

Bob

Hi Bob,

I will be glad to help in any way I can with you class. I don't have a web page (I know, it sounds archiac) but my class meets daily for 9 weeks, and I have everything on our network server that they need.

I created images for the students to practice editing for each topic they are taught. Also, Scott Kelby (the author of the book I am using) has files that can be downloaded which go along with the lessons in the book.

As far as uploading psd files, save them as jpeg's and you will not have a problem.

If you give me your email address, I will send you my outline for the camera class.

Hi Jeanne,

Just returned from a long weekend. My e.mail address is in my signature, but just in case it is: bob@s-i-inc.com.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. More tomorrow.

Thanks,

Bob

I've just upgraded to a new computer, complete with vista. Unfortunately I've got an identical problem to the one Jeanne's identified. Just wondering if anyone has come up with a solution? While I appreciate you can use Outlook to email photos, I've found the organiser function really useful.

Thanks for your help.
