I directly installed my pictures from my camera to elements 5 and I cannot now seem to just put ones I want on a cd to give to someone else. I tried the copy/move offline in the file menu but when looking at the pictures in 'my computer d drive' if I want to see them on the fax viewer or see them bigger it asks for the program that created it and then it only opens the picture in elements. Cant I just put pictures on a cd and pass them around? whats up?

Assuming they are jpeg files you should be able to just right click and select Open With and pick Windows and Fax Viewer from the list. The reason it's using Elements to Open is that you have that set as the default. Open With lets you pick another program.

Hi Kathy,
I am assuming that you have a CD burner, a drive capable of creating a CD not just able to read one. Also, I assume that you use a program like Roxio or Nero to create CDs. It sounds like you already know where the picture files are stored as you have been able to start PSE by double clicking on the file. Good!
Bring up your CD burning software. Drag 'n Drop each file you want to place on the CD into the program. I use Roxio. I drag each file, or group of files, into Roxio. When everything is in Roxio I hit the "Burn" button and the files are written to the CD. All your friend needs to do is to right click the file on the CD and open it up with Picture Viewer (or Preview with Windows Vista), just as Tony explained.
Cheers,

Kathy, good luck and welcome to the forum. I agree w/Tony and Bob, you should check and make sure your photos are saved as a JPEG and not a .psd file.
