(Posting Sun. night - won't be able to do it Monday morning)
If my calculation is correct, we had 259 new submissions to the gallery last week, and a huge percentage of them were definite contenders for awards! What a talented group of people we have here! But I had to narrow my selection to what I felt was the cream of the crop -- a difficult and humbling job. Here are the winners this week:
Image of the Week - Benny Pedersen’s image of a walk in the rain. Benny, you captured a beautiful scenic panorama, a moody sky, awesome lighting, muted but surprising color and, to top it off, you put a big smile on my face with this image. http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/gallery/view_img.php?id=22549

And the other OUTSTANDING winners are (in no particular order):
Shari (The Artistic Award) for her waterlillies. I loved the impressionist filter you applied so effectively (not over-done), and the rich colors. Certainly could have come right out of Monet’s garden.

SuziB (The Sentimental Award) for her “Brother and Sister.” This one captured million-dollar expressions. The tint and the Orton Effect were perfect for this picture. http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/gallery/view_img.php?id=22455
Tom Suarez (The Action Shot Award) for his heron in flight. The photo was precisely sharp and clean. The water made me feel as if I could reach out and touch it. And the eye-to-eye perspective was very effective. http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/gallery/view_img.php?id=22611
Mandolingal (The Macro Award) for Beetle. The sharpness and detail of the main subject -- the beetle -- the angled leaf, and the beautiful blurred and muted background make this a winner. http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/gallery/view_img.php?id=22468
Jkepshire (The Lighting Award) for “Morning Light.” This photo is a classic because of the “golden hour” lighting, the mood-creating mist, and the path that pulled me right into the photo. http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/gallery/view_img.php?id=22618
RobynL (The Nature Award) for “Nature.” This one just gave me such a feeling of peace, and of the grandeur of nature. I loved the reflection -- being able to see the expanse of the sky in the water. The quotation, the fonts used, and the “webbing” at the bottom of the photo compliment and pull it together. http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/gallery/view_img.php?id=22524
