Can someone explain in further detail step 6 with respect to "magic picture within a picture". I try to follow the instructions as written, but can not get just the rectangle to change to color.

Am I missing something, or are the instructions poorly written?

Dedean,

Make sure that you are on the correct layer when you do Alt-Backspace to fill with black. You load the selection from the Color Fill layer (the second one down) but you then need to switch to the top layer (the Hue/Saturation layer) and click on the mask & then fill it with black. Then your rectangle will be filled with colour.
