All my photos are in folders in 'My Picture,' which I back up to an external hard drive regularly.
However, now I am using Organiser, and have changed various preferences, which other folders do I need to back up, and where am I likely to find them in PSE4, please.

Ann,
Very few accurate answers use the word always, but backup is one notable exception. Yes, in my opinion you should always backup your photos. Frankly, I backup mine at several stages. First, I backup everything before I ever erase a memory chip from the camera. I do this by creating a copy file in my documents. I daily backup my computer completely in incremental or differential form to an external hard drive. If I have special images that I may want to give to someone or otherwise save off the computer, I download these to a CD or to a DVD. Then I open my images and begin to cull and edit. Everytime I make a significant change to an image file, I label this and backup. Frankly, the required memory space is very inexpensive compared to losing an image. As someone once noted, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."
Just my thoughts that work for me,
Tom

Hi Ann,
Unless you have asked the Organizer to "show all folders" you should be able to see which folders it is cataloging photos from by going to "folder View" in the bottom left drop down menu.
If you normally view all folders I'm sure you could turn this off temporarily in the preferences menu.
