I would like to know from you computer guru's how to re-use a DVD-RW disk using Windows XP. I thought the proper procedure was to format the disk to be able to re-write to the DVD. However, when I right click on the drive letter FORMAT is grayed out.

I also went to Accessories/Administrative Tools/Computer Management but that also brought me to a dead-end as Format was also grayed out there. I have a ZIP Drive, and there I can format if I wanted to, but not on a DVD-RW disk.

Thank you :)

Charles,
I'm not an expert at this, but after Googling around some, it seems to me that you have to re-format with the same software with which the DVD had originally been formatted.

Thank you Juergen,

The first use of the DVD in question was with Photodex Proshow Gold, so I will see if that program has the re-format option available.
I never thought to Google about it, and if I had, I would not have known what to type in. I appreciate you taking the time for me :)
