I have just changed the arragement of the Organiser to "Folder Location" and there is one folder where the organiser is only showing 7 out of the 135 photos in the folder. Nothing I appear to do shows the other files. When I hover over the folder it says "7 imported items in this folder". If I double click on its is says "There are files in the folder that are not visible in the organiser". If I try to "Get the Photos" from "Files or Folders" is says "The files already exist in the catalog". What is going on????

The Organizer does not import a photo file which it identifies to be a duplicate of a photo that it already has cataloged. (duplicate determination involves file name, date, and other characteristics of the photo file)
Often this means that for the specific photo files for which you receive the message "the file already exists in the catalog" that there are multiple copies of the same photo in different folders on your hard drive.
So if you pick the file name of one of the already exists messages - then go to the File menu and do a Find By File Name . Look at any thumbnails displayed from the find command and you should see the photo in question. Then you can use the Properties of that photo thumbnail in order to look at the folder name that the catalog references for this photo.

Thanks Barb O, your explanation is spot on. The Folder is where I keep my best photos so that I can show them via a slide show from my iPod. All of the Tagging, Cataloging etc in Elements doesn't get transfered to the iPod, thus the folder with duplicate photos.
Thanks again
