Working through 4-4 with respect to the "Creating a Movie Poster" section.
I tried creating a Gradient Fill to the keyboard photo, but the number in the book causes the keyboard to become to black. I tried dialing down the number but that doesn't seem to help.
Any ideas?

Hi dedean-
I'm shooting in the dark just a bit, as I've not yet seen the published version of the article, but in going off my original, check these things:
- Make sure your foreground color is black

- Did you make a Gradient Fill Adjustment Layer and position it correctly in the layers palette?

- In the dialog box that opens when you create that adjustment layer, make sure you choose the Foreground to Transparent option.

As for the opacity level, use whatever works best in your image. There's nothing sacred about the number I used.
If all of those things are as they should be, let me know and we'll try something else...
