Hi there,
Try this, go to Edit - Preferences - Scanner and on this page you will see a "Save As" option.........from the drop down menu just choose jpeg.
Hope this helps.

Hi,

What Operating Systems (OS) are you using? Window XP is very popular. After you scan your image are you able to do any manipulation, like changes to contrast, brightness, and color? What error message do you get when you attempt to Save As?

Welcome to our friendly community. Your problem sounds like it has an easy solution and I would dare say it will be resolved before the sun sets, well sunset on the West Coast of the United States:rolleyes:.

Cheers,

Just a guess but I suspect you maybe scanning at more than 8 bits per channel. In Elements go to Image>Mode and make sure RGB Color is ticked and 8 bits/channel is greyed out. If it isn't click on it and then JPEG should be an option.
