HELP!!! I have been trying to email photos for months with no success after composing an email. I click attachments to an email but then cant find the photos I want to send within photoshop. When I try to email from within pse 4, they wont go through. I have to get them to my trainer 2k miles away starting tomorrow for an upcoming bodybuilding show. he is manipulating my daily food/minerals/cardio/workouts and needs daily photos to make appropriate changes. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!

Hi ...

... and welcome to the forum :)

Well I guess that first you will need to resize the images for sending (as usually images straight out of the camera are a bit too large to send) ... probably the easiest way to do that is to use Save for Web and once you have done the resizing click on Save BUT give the image a new name and save it on your desktop.

That way it should be easy to find it when you want to attach it to an email ..

If you need help on using Save for Web just let me know and I post details for you :)

Hi Bob & NG,

Welcome to the nicest newsgroup community around! When you send ordinary e.mail messages, what e.mail program do you use? Is it a standalone program like Microsoft Outlook or do you use a Webmail system like AOL or EarthLink? Do you have a Windows based system, an Apple based system, or something else like UNIX?

My approach is to prepare a photo for the web, as Wendy explained. Then I save it to my hard disk. After that I go to the folder (directory as other non-Microsoft folks call it) and copy it. I use Outlook, so I next write my e.mail message in text to my intended and paste (<ctrl>V) the image into the message. If you use another method, as noted above, I will try to explain the procedure. If you would like to try it out you can send an image to me at: bob@s-i-inc.com.

Good luck,

Bob

You don’t mention if you using Organizer, but it is probably bst for this purpose.

Launch the Organizer and check out Edit, Preferences, Sharing

This should give you an option box that lets you decide how to handle email attachments. If you cant get email to work, try clicking on the E-mail Client drop down and select the last one – Save top Hard Disk and Attach Files Yourself - option.

There is a browse button that lets you select where to put them or you can accept the Adobe default – as long as you can get to it from your email program.

Once set, click OK.

Now, in Organizer, select the images you want – click and/or ctrl+click for multiple pictures, then click on the share button or File, Email and it will launch the email routine. Select Individual Attachments and set the Size and Quality – it will tell you how large all of the images are going to be. Adobe seems to create a subfolder for the emails, but it will tell you where they are and ;let you open up a browser to check them out.

Now, start up your email program, attach and navigate to the folder where you/Adobe put them and you should be OK. You can delete the files later from the outgoing attachments folder.

Thank you all. I think it worked. More than one way to skin this cat. Perhaps now I will be encouraged to use pse for more than cropping and minor adjustments. All the studying of design, composition, lighting, exposure, and genres came to a screeching halt after capture. Thanks again. Will be checking forum once I have more time-training 4x a day and eating 6 takes all my time right now.
I guess I'll move to pse5 from the 4 I am using.

I'm not much into working out, but I could probably take care of one (or two) of those 6 meals/day for you!!! :p

Unfortunately, poached chicken breasts, yams, broccoli, rice cakes and protein shakes arent too appetizing. In a few weeks, it will be Dean & Deluca's in the wine country of California. Their proscuitto is like budda. Followed by some of Julia's best recipes, home made sorbet and washed down with margarita's and a good cigar. But down to 6% body fat and dont want to loose too much of the progress. Still have 1.5% to go. A 23 yr old body builder at another gym is about to get blown off the stage by the washboard abs of someone old enough to be his grandfather. Everyone has heard of Arnold's movie "Pumping Iron." But his movie that epitimizes body building isnt about grunting and throwing around weights- It's "Stay Hungry." That separates the bodybuilders from the weightlifters.
