Just received Volume 4 No. 4 and am attempting to create the "pin" on page 27, that Susan Hobbs demos in tutorial.

I have created a circle and filled with red; then created a new layer; set colors to default "D" and "X", when I draw my line in that layer (after ctrl-click on circle) it fills it with gray to black gradient, instead of shading the color red.

She explaiins how to do this in Subscribers Tecniques "creating a push pin"
Does anyone have any suggestions what I am doing wrong? or do I need to email Susan direct?

thanks and love the magazine!

Hi Grandy,

You need to change the gradient layer's blend mode to Luminosity and lower the opacity to 50% in order for the red to show through. Hope this helps.
