I have searched both this forum and the Adobe forum on problems encountered with Vista users upgrading PSE5 with the 5.02 patch. I am running PSE5 with Vista, and am having only one problem of which I am aware...that being that the Photomail creation feature does not work. I can't get the patterns to show etc. I am running ample RAM (4G) so I am sure that is not the issue. I have been told that installing the patch will fix the problem, but have heard also that the patch also creates as many problems as it fixes...one being that after installing it, the user continually gets a "nag screen" asking him (her) to register PSE5 every time he opens the program. Suggested solutions to these problems always seem to involve making changes in the registry (or other complex manipulations) which go way beyond my level of expertiise...I am just a "user" who wants to edit pictures.
Could anyone share their experiences with installing this patch, given my level of expertise? Would I be better leaving well-enough alone (and go without Photmail) or are the pitfalls of the 5.02 patch overblown?
