:confused:I finally broke down and downloaded Grant's (Grants ) Tools. I put it in the correct folder, I am 99% positive. I restarted PSE5 while holding the shift key. It showed the box stating "special effects tools rebuilding" ...or something to that affect.
I still can't find them. I have been searching previous posts/threads and trying different things to no avail.
In the ARTWORK and EFFECTS palete
I have Special Effects
In the box it says ALL, I click on the little arrow to reveal the menu
my choices are:
Filters
Layer Styles
Photo Effects
All
I don't see anything that says Grant's Tools...
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks, Susan D

Susan,
I presume you are using PSE5. The folder path is:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\5.0\Photo Creations\special effects\Grants Tools
Note, it is in All Users, not in your personal login path or Default User...

Do I need to go into My Computer first and make a folder called Grant's Tools? I had followed the file path from an earlier post that ended with SPECIAL EFFECTS...does it go further than that?
Should I start over or should I find the file in SPECIAL EFFECTS and move everything to a newly created folder called Grant's Tools?
I knew this was going to be over my head to do!

You need to have just one folder called Grants Tools under Special Effects so you don't need to make a new one. Not sure if you saw this post but it has the latest set of Grant's Tools for PSE5 and the instructions for installing them:

Hi Susan ...
When you click on the Mask icon it create a white mask (reveal all) ... what do you want to fill it with ??
Here is some information about Grant's tools and there is a section on masks :)
