Brice,
I went out 3 different evenings, one up north and two here at home. The one posted was shot this evening. An equinox eve sunset. :D

For the viewing pleasure, I have to say that so far this one has been the one I have enjoyed the most. Some truly amazing sunsets!

Jodi, the assignment was sunrise OR sunset. So while you were sitting there drinking your coffee, you could have been taking pictures!!
I can't wait to find out what the next assignments are now.

Pauline...saw the sunrises 'before' the challenge was posted ;)
Last night I stood on the backporch calling for the cat...it was pretty cold out...noticed a bright light in the sky just above the farm....was moving slowly but headed in my direction...I watched it for a while...starting to freeze a bit in my shorts...still calling the cat...still watching the light coming...getting brighter and brighter, slowly getting closer. Decided to go get the binoculars...ran back out, tried to zoom in on it....it's getting colder, the light is getting brighter, getting closer. Watched it as my body started scrunching up from the cold, getting closer....Just when I was about to run in and get my camera is when I heard the sound of a small aircraft engine....bummer. Stupid little plane had 3 big bright white lights in the front, 2 big red lights in the back and big green lights on the wings. Jerk ! Ruined my UFO shot he did !

  Jodi. Great story. I hope you grabbed a tea afterwards and cuddled in a blanket. The weather sure has changed and gee wasn't it you that said it was going to rain today. WELL it did! Early this morning I was awakened by a big crash of thunder and pouring rain. That's okay. I have lots to do on the computer today. I've fallen behind and it's finally my turn for the scrap book page. -- I know that you will love what I add, now that I know more about you.

Oh Gary, that was worth the wait. It looks like you got the same storm we did. the one that woke me early with a big crash of thunder followed by torenchel (?) rains.

Jodi,
So you thought they were coming to take you to our new space colony?????
Loved everyone's photos---but 1 thing I noticed --- a lot of us did not correct a tilting horizon. (I'm not leaving myself out by any means) Just an observation that might make all our pics better.

Great pictures but I also noticed the tilting horizons. My pics are almost always tilted about 1° to the right so doing a rotate 1° left is almost an automatic adjustment before a crop. I'm not sure if it's being right handed or because of the camera button being on the right side.

Gary,
We just see the world from a different angle I guess!
Or maybe one leg is shorter than the other!

Sherry, the thought came to mind ;) ...really it did...but it didn't have anything to do with a Photoshop colony. I mean, there i was and it was coming straight toward me and I'm not the type to run.... hey, ya never know...altho I suspect they'd spit me out quick enough

Sherry,
Using the grid to check the horizon did cross my mind, but didn't do it. I Used the good old "eyeballing it" technique.
Everyone's image is stunning and unique. This is fun. :D
