I almost missed this butterfly because he blended in so well with the flower. They have such beauty and grace.

Gorgeous butterfly and excellent photo - remarkable clarity!

Not a butterfly we see in Texas; best guess is on ID is Aphrodite Fritillary (how about that for a name?!)

Aphrodite Fritillary is the correct name for that little beauty. It seems that there are so many butterflies this year or maybe my back yard pond just seems to attract them. Thanks for the comments...everyone.

Tina, I hope you'll get an opportunity to photograph more of them! A lot of the ones down here don't sit long enough for me to get a good shot...
