Great job with this. You found the best parts of the picture and made it awesome. I too want to know where in La. it was taken.

Thanks! It was taken near New Orleans and Lake Pontchartrain. A year and a half after and about thirty miles from the center of Katrina's destruction.

Hi Jerrilyn

I asked because I am in Louisiana. I am in Lafayette. :)

Hello, fellow Louisianian! Lafayette is a beautiful city. Did you have much damage from Rita? I am north of Lake Ponchartrain. Missed most of the damage from Katrina. Several trees down, but they missed the house. Many friends were not so lucky.

Hi Jerrilyn. Covington? I'm south of the lake, LaPlace. I guess we have several Louisianans :) including transplanted ones. :D

We had no damage from either hurricane. :) There are a few here from LA.

Welcome!! :)

Just yell if you need help. Someone will always be glad to help.

Hi, Fernan. I'm from Ponchatoula (hence the strawberries). LaPlace is a great place too and, like Lafayette, it has wonderful seafood!

What a great picture. Never used the high pass sharpen... exactly what does that do? I need to check that out.

From another Louisianian, also on the Northshore - Jerrilyn, this is just beautiful, as are the other photos in your gallery!

Michelle, Dave Cross did a tutorial in the subscriber section on Feb. 16, 2007, called "Sharpen." Sometimes high pass works better than unsharp mask and vice versa. What I like about high pass is that the sharpening is on its own layer, so you can decrease the opacity of the effect or even change it after it is saved as a psd.

BTW was the picture taken somewhere on I-59? I love the Stawberry Fest!

Thanks Christine. And I love your plumeria. I have a white one with yellow center. It's going to bloom soon and I'll post a photo when it does. Congratulations on Image of the week for it! I also like your photo of the little girl with brushes in bubbles and foliage. Is that your daughter? Did you use a scrapbook paper overlay?

Hi Jerrilyn,

My Mom had a few of those flowers in different colors, one was a dark pink! I would love to see a picture of yours when it blooms! I wonder if it would grow here in North Texas? Hmmm ... I will have to check.

The photo you speak of is actually a photo of my son and if I remember correctly, I used all brushes on that image. He has very creamy porcelain skin and sky blue eyes ... makes for some good photos to use to play with for different techniques :)

I still LOVE your pelicans! I had wished to get some good pelican photos while in Florida but did not get the opportunity ... I was bummed .. they have so much character!

Jerrilyn: Thank you. I will have to check that tutorial out. Having it on it's own layer is great.
