Two questions on On-line training

I'm exploring the site some more, and I started looking at the on-line training. It seems though, that to look at the information in more detail you have to start giving your e-mail address, create a password, etc. I wanted to find out a few things before going into all that. For example what are the various types of courses being offered, what are approximate course costs, etc.

Another issue that is crucial for me, since I get the impression a lot of the training is through videos, do they heavily use voice, or is it mostly just watch and see what is done? The reason I ask this is I'm hard-of-hearing (w/ 2 hearing aids) and for me understanding voices from computer videos is extremely difficult.

As far as I know there is only one right now..21 days long, 5 min tutorital everyday, with the ablility to save the video as well as any photos they work on for that tut.

They do use sound in the video and it is very helpful because Scott explains what he is doing on screen. He doesn't (as far as I can remember) skip or add any steps verbally, that you can't see on the screen, the voiceover just helps you figure stuff out.

I don't know what your hearing problem is or if there is a workaround, but I don't think that anyone who has taken it regrets spending the $20.

If you go to that intro page there is a short video Introduction from Scott Kelby and if you listen to him there you may get a good idea how it would work for you.

And the lessons come with a PDF written file you can print. If the sound is a problem, you might be able to read the printed file first to get an idea of what the lesson is teaching you, then just watch it without sound to see the steps being carried out. (the PDF is not a word for word transcript though)

Thanks for the feedback everyone. The next month is going to be a hectic one for me, but once that's over with, I'll give it a go. I just ordered "The Missing Manual" and "The Photoshop Elements 3 Book for Digital Photographers" (buy.com is offering 10% off of Amazon prices, so I figured it was time to start with reading material) so they'll at least get me started for now.

Grat book choices to get started! I especially love the Kelby books. You might consider his Down and Dirty Tricks for PSE3 when you get through those two.
