Hello Again!

We'll I've started to dive in and I'm learning a lot. Thanks so much for the help!

I have a new question. I have a photo that has an outlet in the background that I want to make disappear.

Would you offer some assistance or point me in the right direction to a tutorial. I would so appreciate the help!

Thanks! Shawna

One of the easiest ways to romove unwanted things from a photo is to use the clone tool. You can copy a part of the wall and clone it right over top of the thing you want to remove.

I use the clone tool a lot too. Be sure to clone on a new blank layer and have all layers checked.
Another one to try is the marquee tool (m).
Feather it in the options bar first, then make a square or ovaled section from a good part.
ctrl +j it to its own layer, then switch to the move tool (v) and cover it up.
Then feathering helps to blend the added part in.

Greetings again...
If anyone has time, would you kindly walk me through with steps to remove an object? I've tried using the clone and marquee tool as you've suggested but so far I can't figure out how to make them work. :( Sure would appreciate the assistance. I know this is probably really basic..but I'm getting a bit frustrated:eek:
Thanks in advance!

Shawna, If you would post the picture maybe we could help you a little better. I use the clone tool also by doing the following and it works pretty well:

Select clone stamp tool>Choose any brush (you can change size & blending mode, you have an option for aligned or sample all layers); Right click inside what portion you want to use to copy from and hold down the alt key and click once to set target for the clone stamp tool; Now, go to where you want to clone to and click and start dragging around.

YIPPEE! THanks for the help! A new question....how do I blur the edges more so that the clone is not as obvious???

THANKS! (This is fun!)

One way that I use to blur the edges is go to the tool bar on the left and click on the icon that looks like a drop of water, to me anyway, its the blur tool, then drag over the edges. On the top of the tool bar you can adjust the size of the brush and the strength. Good luck.

Hi ...

When you use the clone tool you can choose which brush you want to use it with .... just make sure that you have a soft one selected :)
