Im a little confused on how to work with styles and effects on brushes
should I stamp on a new layer and then apply.
for example if i want to add some shadow
to the brush , should I select all .
It did not when I tried.
Thanks

Hi Jana ..
First you need to create a new layer ... Layer>New>Layer
then on the new layer stamp something with the brush.
Next apply a drop shadow layer style to that new layer and it should appear where you stamped :)

I love keeping those things on separate layers - in fact, I love to keep everything I can on a separate layer. You don't know how many times, I've disposed of something I did early in the project because I've changed my approach as my project morphed into something I had no clue it would morph into. LOL
For me, that's what sets Elements apart from all the other graphic programs I've owned. Layers - it's all about the flexibility of layers.

Hi Jana ...
If you want the brush strokes to be on the background then you need a background layer, then a layer with the brush strokes on it and finally on top of the layers palette a photos of you and your friend ..
Now this layer with you and your friend on it ... you will need to have selected both of you and copied them to their own layer :)

Hi Jana ...
Oh that is OK ...
I just thought of an easier way to do it ... try this ..
Create a new layer above your photo (Layer>New Layer)
Then do your brush stroke ... don't worry about them being over your faces.
Next get the eraser tool and just erase the brush stroke from over your faces ...
Let me know if you need more help :)
