I would like to create a collage where a word or name has an effect like the letters have moved from one place to another. Like they leave a trail behind them. This is the link I'm talking about http://sportsshotz.com/showImage.asp?a32135617i+person_t

Can anyone help me with this?

Sorry, if you feel like checking it out its in sportsshotz.com and in the collage section there is a red and white collage of a boy in baseball and his last name is what I am trying to do.

Here's the link I think will work.

That's an interesting font effect, never seen it before. Not sure how it's done. Maybe it's a Photoshop effect.

It looks to me like they copied the name many, many times, then made it a bit smaller every time and moved the layer up. If you look at the bottom curve of the "S", you can see what I mean. Good idea! I will try it out soon.

Hi ..

Yes that is how it is done ... the steps are duplicate, reduce size, nudge. Takes quite a lot of time to do manually but using a photoshop action it is much easier.

Do you know of one, Wendy?

Hi Reka ...

I don't think that I have seen one ... although try Adobe Exchange :)

Hi ..

I just had an experiment ... It really needs a slightly smaller decrease in size and a bit less of a nudge, but it should give you an idea of what you can do :)

It would be great if one of our Photoshop users would write us an action to do that. Anyone want to take up the challenge? Benny? Anyone else? Then it could be uploaded to our new PSE Exchange.:D

Where is the PSE exchange located at on the site. Is it in the forums somewhere? I've looked and can't seem to find it.:o Thanks

Hi Diana ...

I did write the action to do that ... but one problem is that I would have to guess how many replications you needed ..

I haven't tested it yet in Elements but it should work just fine :)

Hi Wendy,

After you test it in PSE will you be putting the action in the PSE Exchange? I'm sure we can make use of it no matter how many replications you make. Actually, if all the layers are there, couldn't we manually add more replications if we needed them?

Hi Diana ...

I guess that you could simply keep playing the action over and over again ... I may perhaps set if for 5 or so replications and see how it goes.

I'll test it out in Elements :)

Thanks lots, Graffi! Can it be used on image layers as well?

Can't you have a pause in the action to enter the number of replications? Stupid question - as you see I know nothing about recording actions, but if it is like macros in Word...

not in an action -that would be more of a plug in, although probably a java snippet would do the same thing.

This is just a fast, simple fade-n-shrink action that's still pretty versatile.
