Hello, and thanks for anyone's opinion on this, in advance. :)

I have quite a large library of pics, and am attempting to create a full backup on a large external drive (first time on this drive.) I go through the menus as usual, but once I select the location, and give it the go-ahead, up pops that lovely, useless message, and everything terminates. Since the main justification for this large drive was to provide backup space, this is beyond disheartening.

I've searched here for the error, and read what people have posted, and gone to Adobe for their few hints. I thought the whole DLA issue might hold true, but I don't see that for a hard drive, do you think?

Anyway, I'm stumped, and would appreciate any nudges in ANY direction, even if they are not the right one. Thanks again!;)

The best definition of insanity: I tried the self-same thing I had tried half a dozen times before, and this time it worked. This sort of behavior gives me no confidence in the backup procedure...

The only thing I did differently is first "look" at the E drive (the DVD drive) on my computer, which caused the drive door to open. I canceled that operation, selected L drive again, and this time it worked.

A giant "huh" on this one, for anyone who searches for similar error messages in future. It would seem this error is basically useless, and just means "try whatever else you can think of, and eventually whatever you're doing might work." :) At least it did this time.
