Is it possible to automatically back-up a Windows based computer containing JPEG files in an automatic mode that only upgrades the back-up as the latest or single back-up on an external hard drive? I know this can be done using very expensive hardware, but I would like to set my computer to back-up daily without compressing the files when backing up, I cannot seem to get this to work and generate only one back-up on the external hard drive.

You can use Microsoft Power Tools - SyncToy (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx).
I have been using it for about 2 months. It is free from Microsoft and works for either an incremental backup or to managa a USB drive that is shuffled between systems.

John,
Thanks. I truly hope a whole lot of people read this thread because this is the easiest and most regular way to preserve images on an external drive. Your help is very much appreciated.
