How do you do this?

Nick. if it is a layer in a PSD document, go to Image>Rotate>Flip layer horizontal, making sure you have that layer highlighted in the layers palette. If it is the background layer by itself(i.e. a JPG file), go to Image>Rotate>Flip horizontal.

Hope you get it worked out okay!

Flipping things in Elements is great ... but you do have to watch out if there is any text on the item ..
