Is there a way to get rid of the faint line (slightly purplish) around this image? I had isolated it from a solid green background with the magic wand. I have to upload them to a website for a friend and if I put a drop shadow on it, it shows up more pronounced. Other than going around with the eraser which is really time-consuming, how else can I get rid of this faint line?

Hi Norma ...

Try this on a duplicate of the image ..

Go to the layers palette and Control Click (Mac:Command Click) on the layer thumbnail.
Then do Select>Modify>Contract ... try say 3 pixels (but you will have to experiment)
Next do Select>Inverse then Edit>Delete

Do let us know if it works OK :)

Wendy :)

Okay, I'll try it. (sorry, in the title I meant "purple" but is was mispelled). Thanks Wendy!

Well, I tried it and it still didn't work (or maybe I'm missing something)...but I thought I would try expanding (and did it by 5) and would you believe, it worked. Not sure why.

And it'll be smaller on the site I'm uploading it to so the shadow will be less noticable.

Hi Norma ...

If expand worked then it looks like you had your selection the other way around ... basically what you are doing when you use this method is making the selection of the shirt a little smaller then inverting the selection and deleting the excess ...

... hopefully that removes the coloured fringe too :)
